Tristan Paige Fell

Tristan Paige Fell is a twenty-year-old photographer, model and videographer based in Pendleton, Oregon. She’s been shooting ever since she can remember, but started taking it more seriously after she graduated from high school. After a year of community college, she decided school wasn’t the only way to becoming successful and began chasing a dream. Tristan loves the multiple opportunities photography brings to the table and is always aspiring to dig deeper and think more creatively. When she’s not out adventuring she enjoys longboarding, drawing and writing, but she’s mostly adventuring.

What sparked your interest in photography?

I’ve been shooting ever since I can remember but I started taking it more seriously after I decided that there were other ways for me to become successful.

What kind of camera do you use?

I use a Canon 5D Mark II.

Who are a few other adventure photographers that inspire you?

Andrew Kearns, obviously. Joshua Ables, Brandy Anderson, and @wisemamawolf (not sure of her real name, but she rocks.)  I really like Alex Strohl’s work a lot too!

What would you say your favorite part about adventure photography is?

The adventure, of course! I would say that my favorite part is the people. I like the adventure photography gives you the chance to meet so many different people and hear their stories and how they got where they are. Photography is an awesome tool when meeting new people with the same interests, but it also leads to the ones who don’t necessarily do what you do. I have mostly grown within photography by hanging out with those who don't shoot at all but who are talented in other mediums of art. Every talented creative i have met (photographer or not) gives me little butterflies inside and often inspires a new way of going about the way I shoot.

What’s your ideal location to shoot at?

The coast anywhere near the ocean is my favorite. I really want to go to Canada and shoot at Niagara Falls too.

What would you say to someone who’s interested in starting to shoot but might feel discouraged?

I say go for it! I always try to tell anyone, even whose just starting out that we’ve all been there and we’ve all done it. The more you do it, the better you get. Everyone is eventually going to get as good as they want. As long as you’re shooting every day, practicing and aspiring to be better- then keep it up!
